1. Information you give us

• Account details: your name, email address, and sign-in credentials. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
• Profile details: phone number and property address (street, city, state, ZIP). Your address is used to determine your climate zone and to find contractors near you.
• Project details: project names, descriptions, budgets, style preferences, features, yard photos you upload, and any custom instructions you write.
• Builder details, if you are a contractor: business name, contact information, service area, specialties, license number, bio, and portfolio images.
• Messages and reviews: bid request messages you send to builders and reviews you leave.

2. Information we create for you

When you generate a design, we store the AI-generated design image, design description, plant recommendations, material lists, cost estimates, and site analysis so you can return to them later.

3. Payment information

Paid plans are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We receive limited information such as your plan, subscription status, and billing history so we can keep your account up to date.

4. Information collected automatically

We collect basic technical information such as device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, pages viewed, and error logs. We use this to keep the service secure and working properly.

5. How we use your information

• To create and display your projects, designs, estimates, and material lists.
• To generate designs that fit your climate, yard, and preferences.
• To connect you with contractors when you ask us to send a bid request.
• To operate subscriptions, billing, and account management.
• To provide support, send service messages, and prevent abuse or fraud.
• To improve the product and fix problems.

6. AI processing

Your yard photos, project descriptions, and design instructions are sent to third-party AI model providers so a design can be generated. They are used to produce your result and are not used by us to train our own models.

AI output is a starting point, not professional advice. Estimator and material quantities are approximations and should be verified by a qualified contractor before you build.

7. When we share information

• With contractors you choose: when you send a bid request, your name, email, phone number, message, and relevant project details (including your design and material list) are shared with that builder so they can respond.
• With other users: builder profiles are public in the builder directory. Project and estimate links you create with the share feature are visible to whoever you share them with.
• With service providers: hosting and authentication, payments (Stripe), AI model providers, and email delivery. They may only use your information to provide those services to us.
• For legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of YardMod, our users, or others.
• In a business transfer: if the service is sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising cookies.

9. How long we keep information

We keep your projects and profile for as long as your account exists, plus a short period after deletion for backups and legal obligations. Billing records may be kept longer where tax and accounting laws require it.

10. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile, then Account, then Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile, projects, and designs from the active service. Records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices, may be retained.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

You can update your profile at any time in the app, and you can contact us to exercise any of these rights.

12. Children

YardMod is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

13. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.

14. International transfers

We and our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. If a change is significant, we will notify you in the app or by email, and the effective date at the top will change.
